Review :

‘The Second Wife’ isn’t the first book I’ve read by this author, so I thought I knew what to expect, but did I really?
Well, it started out quite great with a very intriguing prologue that got me instantly hooked on reading and forgetting about everything around me.
However, a couple of chapters in, and definitely after a certain scenario, I thought : ‘This can’t be right. I already figured it out! How predictable!’
Sorry to say it so bluntly, dear Sheryl, but that was my opinion at that point.
I was kinda full of myself, thought a job as a detective would fit me nicely.
It would be the point where I closed the book if I didn’t knew you.
I would be boggled why people gave it 5 stars and raved about it.
Nevertheless, knowing you, I kept on reading, just to see myself falling off my own pedestal, but I didn’t.
As I turned page after page I couldn’t find another theory.
I really was a great detective, but than I wanted to figure out the reasons.
Did I get them right too?
I must say I did very well, but luckily you had some things up your sleeves!
About less than a quarter to go and that’s when I realized I’m not that great.
You’re the master, hands down.
You definitely got me reading at high speed now, engrossed in how everything just unfolded.
I had the feeling I would be furious if someone came and distract me!
Luckily for me nobody dared 😉 and although I was a bit disappointed in the ending, it seemed a bit flat and rather quick in my opinion, I only can say Sheryl Browne, you, did it again!
Unbelievable!
Another fast paced, well written and captivating read I do full heartedly recommend to all of you readers out there!
