– ‘The Magic Of Wor(l)ds’ blog is a hobby, reviews and other bookish stuff on this site are done for free.
I’m grateful of receiving a free copy from the publisher/author in exchange for an honest review of this book. –
Can you face the consequences of cheating the Fates?
Alexander the Great journeys to India, where he and Ashley are welcomed with feasts and treachery.
With their son, Paul, being worshiped as the Son of the Moon, and Alexander’s looming death, Ashley considers the unthinkable: how to save them and whether she dares to cheat Fate?
About the Author :
Jennifer Macaire is an American living in Paris. She likes to read, eat chocolate, and plays a mean game of golf. She grew up in upstate New York, Samoa, and the Virgin Islands. She graduated from St Peter and Paul High School in St Thomas and moved to NYC where she modelled for five years for Elite. She went to France and met her husband at the polo club. All that is true. But she mostly likes to make up stories.
This is the third book in this series and I must say I’m loving it more and more.
I guess this is mostly due to the fact that here we’re looking, together with Ashley and Alexander of course, to solve a rather pressing problem described to us at the beginning of this series.
I definitely know it’s something that kept me, and a lot of others, hooked.
Not that this was the only thing of course!
Like said in previous reviews the author knows her history and knows how to fluidly write about it.
She doesn’t only picture the grand battles and plots everyone knows about, but also everyday life so many years ago.
It means a lot of research in my opinion and for that I applaud the author!
It makes it a very interesting read for lovers of historical fiction like me.
Truly recommendable, but please start with the first book first.
You won’t be disappointed, I promise.
