Today I’m on the ‘Duchess If You Dare’ blogtour, organized by Rachel’s Random Resources.
To promote this book I have a guest post, but before I let you read it first some ‘basic’ information.
About the Author :
USA Today Bestselling author Anabelle Bryant began reading at age three and never stopped. Her passion for reading soon turned into a passion for writing and an author was born. Happy to grab her suitcase if it ensures a new adventure, Anabelle finds endless inspiration in travel; especially imaginary jaunts into romantic Regency England, a far cry from her home in New Jersey. Instead, her clever characters live out her daydreams because really, who wouldn’t want to dance with a handsome duke or kiss a wicked earl?
Anabelle’s books have been translated into several languages including Japanese and Russian, but writing isn’t all that keeps her busy. Building miniatures, baking and photography are other favorite pastimes. Often found with her nose in a book, Anabelle is just as happy in a room full of people. She enjoys meeting readers, attending conferences and book signings. She has earned her Master’s Degree and is ABD for her Doctorate Degree in education.
A firm believer in romance, Anabelle knows sometimes life doesn’t provide a happily ever after, but her novels always do.

Daring to Dream
The more time goes by, the more I realize life is about weighing risk and taking chances. About setting a goal and working toward it. About embracing a dream. No one’s life is charmed, not even in a romance novel. We all face challenges. It’s how a person confronts life’s daunting realities that inspires me when I write, whether drawing from my own experiences or empathetically understanding someone else’s troubles.
Having a dream is a precious endeavor. It causes a person to feel vulnerable, especially when most dreams can’t be realized without change and let’s face it, change is often uncomfortable. And then there’s all the required hope and unfailing commitment. I believe dreams are a rare combination of wishful thinking and endurance in a race to see which one will outlast the other.
My journey to realize my dream of publication was a long one that stretched over a decade. Like many authors who balance different parts of their life, my writing career was an on-again off-again effort sidelined for family, advanced education and sometimes daily exhaustion. But deep in my heart I hung onto my dream. I kept that candle lit even when other responsibilities tried to snuff it out. I wouldn’t allow myself to let it go. Perhaps that’s why this book is so special.
DUCHESS IF YOU DARE is first and foremost a romance, but it’s also a story of triumph, of overcoming fear and conquering hardship, of daring to dream and then risking everything to accomplish happiness.
Scarlett, the heroine, is no stranger to tragedy and hardship. She never dreams of becoming a duchess. She never dreams at all, knowing that road leads more to disappointment than any other emotion. But then life intercedes and forces her to examine her self-worth, her ability to overcome fear and embrace love. For Scarlett, this isn’t an easy proposition. She’s strongminded and she struggles, but in the end like all difficult journeys when the dream comes true and the goal is reached, the reward is that much sweeter.
On the surface, Aylesford’s life seems a dream. He’s a duke, one of the most powerful men in London. He has wealth, power and prestige. But underneath his calm demeanor is a tangled maze of conflicted emotion, a struggle between what’s already decided and what he wants for himself, what he must do and what he desires. Meeting Scarlett complicates every area of his life. But how much is he willing to sacrifice when all of England expects otherwise?
Scarlett and Aylesford cross paths again and again, always at odds, until they ultimately find themselves in each other’s arms. But while they grow closer through intimacy and shared secrets, falling in love becomes yet another complication. Now if only they dare to dream a life together…
